Bohemian style and a life long passion for vintage are the common threads running through all of the one of a kind handmade bags created by Mary Jane Hunter, designer.

A jeweler by trade, Mary Jane was able to translate her formal design training from The Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC, into her love of handbags, creating bags that she herself wanted but was unable to find in the marketplace.

Mary Jane uses mainly vintage fabrics , leathers, and hardware to create her stunning yet functional bags. The unique designs and quality that vintage fabric provides adds to the funky style of all by Mary Jane bags. The use of vintage material also creates less impact on the environment, which is of great importance to Mary Jane.

Mary Jane sells her bags both on line and in stores. While each bag is a unique piece, Mary Jane has created small, cohesive groups of bags for in-store lines.

Mary Jane currently resides in Greenport, NY with her husband, Robert, an illustrator, and their daughter, Arbor Grace.
